Day of the Dogs - Volume 1 (Paperback)

A pack of wild dogs have taken down many of the ranchers' animals, but when a child is killed they call Dr. Bob who is known for his tracking and hunting skills. But Bob doesn't like killing...until he sees the mangled body of the young boy. Suddenly he understands he must reevaluate everything in his world and confront the enemy with a vengeance. As the dogs begin to make the battle a personal one for Bob, he soon realizes they may not be his only enemy. As he begins to hunt the pack he becomes aware of a Presence with him, and he is puzzled as to what it is or where it came from. As his physical abilities are enhanced, so is his awareness of his life. He finds himself questioning what his grandfather referred to as "The Plan" and contemplates the concepts of Destiny versus Free Will. He wonders if his life has been scripted or if he unknowingly created it himself. Bob's wife, Barb, has begun seeing a psychologist, Gerald Klyne. When Barb and Bob are invited to dinner at the Klyne's house, Bob finds himself somewhat put off by Gerald but finds his wife, Grace, to be quite pleasant. Bob and Grace begin to have lunch almost every day. They find that they have a lot in common and both are grateful to have each other to talk to as they struggle to keep their individual marriages intact. Unbeknownst to Bob, Barb and Gerald are having an affair, acting as major drug mules, and plotting to kill Bob. Barb longs to be free from her duties as a wife and mother, and Bob's death will provide her the money to support all her habits. See how this thriller develops.
