High Desert Fury (Paperback)

This is a crime-adventure novel about a rogue ATF agent based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, who runs firearms to Mexican drug cartels. He infiltrates or deals with various gangs in the city to purchase guns. Agent Crawford transports the firearms to a small border town, Columbus, where two associates pay "mules" to take them to Juarez. Crawford lives with a girfriend but that relationship breaks down because of the stress and strain of his lifestyle. Close to his mother, agent Crawford tries to keep her company and support her emotionally; his father passed away not long ago. He has an affair with an older femme fatale, who encourages him to make enough money to leave the U.S. She introduces him to an enclave of Hells Angels, who operate in secrecy. They are involved in various criminal interests. At one point, Crawford's handler commands him to find the "bastard" who is running firearms to cartels. He suspects the individual is in law enforcement. Therefore, ATF wants him to find himself. The novel addresses the issues of gun control, violence and the drug trade. Crawford, in Mexico, witnesses a horrific murder of teenagers. The shooters wound him at the site.
