Dr. Cowell received his M.D. from the University of Toronto and is a Fellow in Occupational Medicine with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is a certificant of both the College of Family Practice of Canada and the Canadian Board of Occupational Medicine. He has been in private occupational medical practice providing clinical and administrative services to a wide variety of corporations both large and small in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia. He has been the president of the Canadian Board of Occupational Medicine and the Occupational and Environmental Association of Canada and over the years has chaired and participated on many committees concerned with health care and occupational health and safety.
