Technology Acceptance for Government Procurement (Paperback)


The advent of Internet Technology has made it possible for governments to transform themselves by offering various services online. Successful implementation of electronic government initiatives is being touted as the next wave of creating innovative government service delivery in the context of the public sector worldwide. Electronic Procurement was implemented in Malaysia in 1999 and it is the use of Information and Communications Technology to streamline the procurement processes within the public sector. The academic nature of this study centers on understanding if government suppliers are ready to use e-Procurement and also to examine the nature of the e-Procurement application within the government procurement system. The study contributes to the body of literature in the domain of technology adoption in public sector and within the context of e-Procurement systems more specifically. Various models pertaining to technology adoption were used and modified to develop the e-Procurement Acceptance Model (EPAM).
