Globalization Issues and Challenges - An Overview (Paperback)


In the first chapter of the book initiatives have been taken to analyze and interpret the experiences of the world with the process of globalization. However theoretical frameworks have been taken from different pioneering works like the works of Anthony Giddens and Immunal Walleristein to make ideas theoretical sound and practically relevant. The second chapter of the book is an effort to show how the process is confronting the democratic and trade policies of all the countries of the world In this chapter theoretical knowledge with live evidences have been combined in a coherent manner so that things can become easy to communicate and understand for all eager readers and writers. Chapter 3rd is mainly concerned with conflict and experiences of localities in post modern industrialized and capitalist societies. Besides this globalization in general has been defined in light of various social thinkers along with this explanation various sub themes have been touched and interpreted Sociologically, which may include Religion, Economics and financial globalization and globalization from religious point of view. Chapter fourth is mainly concerned with the emerging issues related with children, in this chapter efforts were initiated to look into the causes and consequences of child labor in the global village, attempts were also undertaken to highlight the various safeguards for the protection of children rights in the process of globalization and recommendations were given to solve the child associated problems Sociologically and scientifically at macro level. Chapter fifth is focused to the gender related problems in the global context, In this chapter various challenges were highlighted associated with women folk which may include status of women in work places, in family, and in other primary and secondary social institutions of modern societies. Ultimately the main focus of this chapter is to show how the process of globalization is responsible for deteriorating the status of women in rural societies in the world. Chapter sixth is an attempt to show the emergence of conflict between great civilizations of the world in this chapter analysis of ideological conflicts and differences between haves and have not have been studied. The focus of this chapter is to resolve conflict between nations which are existing on the world especially 1989 onwards live examples and evidences were studied and interpreted scientifically and Sociologically to make this work an objective and valuable one. Chapter seven is concerned with tourism in general in the age of globalization and tourism in particular in the Arab world in relation with globalization. In this chapter content analysis as the source of data collection was employed to get the exact tourist flow from other parts of the world to the Arab world and it was founded that pilgrimage tourism is emerging as a source of income for the Arab countries at macro level. However it was found that this process of pilgrimage tourism along with general tourism can flow day by day but it is hindrances by terrorism which is spreading in this part of the world like anything. Chapter eighth is a focused chapter on the environment and globalization relationship. In this chapter problems which are associated with environmental degradation were highlighted However attention was also given to this fact that environment and ecological imbalance is mainly caused by the more developed nations of the world because they are the producers of poison gases like O2 Methane and smoge in a huge quantity.
