Light and Ultra structural characterization of Blood cell of Pig (Paperback)

,
The cytological details of blood cells of pig are focuses on cytomorphological Cytochemicals, Cytoenzymic, Scanning electron microscopic and Transmission electron microscopic. Largest basophil among all leukocytes. Unlike ruminants basophils of pig showed positive reactions with Peroxidase and Non specific esterase. Under scanning electron microscope erythrocytes of pig showed variable degree of concavity and most of erythrocytes were flat. Under transmission electron microscope, unlike ruminants cytoplasmic granules of eosinophils were devoid of rod like electron dense crystalloid materials. The basophils were roughly spherical in outline with cytoplasmic granules of varying size and shape. Lymphocytes under TEM were almost round in outline with comparatively long cytoplasmic processes and pseudopodia. The monocytes showed large number of variable sized cytplasmic processes and characterized by large number of pinocytic vesicles and vacuoles.Ultrastructurally the platelets were non nucleated and elongated, oval or circular in outline.
