Praxis Confessarii (Latin, Hardcover)

This is part of a scan of a 1830's edition of St. Alphonsus' Theologia Moralis. It is his practical manual for the simple parish priest regarding the art of saving souls through the sacrament of Penance (also known in our day as the Sacrament of Reconciliation). This widely-acclaimed book is a distillation of some of the moral and much of the pastoral wisdom of a great Doctor of the Church and the patron of Moral Theologians, all from the hand of the master himself. Exerpt from this Praxis Confesarii ad bene excipiendas confessiones: "Magna utique erit merces, qua in aeternitate compensabuntur boni Confessarii, et de sua praedestinatione ita securi sunt ii qui se ad Animarum salute occupant, ut Jacobus Apostulus (Epist. c. 5 V. 20) perspicue hoc testetur his verbis: 'Qui converti fecerit peccatorum ab errore viae suae, salvabit animam ejus...a morte, et operiet multitudinem peccatorum.'"
