In the late 1930s the station was reopened as a bomber base and, post-war, operated bombers and reconnaissance aircraft. Its squadrons played a leading role in the Falklands and Gulf Wars, and over Bosnia and Iraq. Today the Marham Wing is one of the largest and busiest in the RAF, operating four squadrons of Tornado GR4 aircraft in the attack and reconnaissance roles.
