Serine/Threonine Protein Kinases and Mycobacterial Infection (Paperback)

Tuberculosis, caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis is a major health concern worldwide. Protein kinases play a crucial part in regulation of various cellular processes including regulation of immune response to infections. Mycobacterium tuberculosis contains eleven genes coding for eukaryotic like Serine/Threonine Protein Kinases. These S/TPKs play very important roles in the biology of mycobacteria including infection process. In the current work, we have tried to understand the role of protein kinases in regulating mycobacterial infection of macrophages and to explore any relationship between macrophage Protein Kinase C and mycobacterial kinases.
