The Q Fragments (Paperback)

Jesus of Nazareth was condemned, tortured and cruelly killed by the Romans who occupied Judea in the First Century CE. The bodies of crucified victims were routinely thrown into common graves, or left to hang until the vultures and the dogs had done their work. Why is it that many people now believe Jesus was different, that he did not die, that his body was resurrected and taken to a placed called Heaven? Why was the dead body of a criminal permitted to be interred in a Jewish tomb? Why was the body not there a few days later? Was it ever there? Was it stolen and buried elsewhere? Did it survive death and return to life? The Q Fragments is an historical novel that tells what could have happened. The story begins when fragments of the Dead Sea Scrolls turn up for sale on the antiquities black market in modern day Jerusalem. When translated, the fragments reveal information about Jesus of Nazareth and his life, and more importantly, that there is a secret about Jesus long hidden in the Israeli desert. A team is formed to unravel the mystery and find the secret. When they do, it will change Christianity forever. The Q Fragments then takes the reader to Judea in the First Century CE to recount the life and fate of the historical Jesus, a man who was not at all the person who is now described in scripture, the Gospels and other Christian writings. The Q Fragments is based on the canonical Gospels, gnostic manuscripts, textual criticism and modern research into the life of the historical Jesus of Nazareth. Through action, characters and dialog it shows how Jesus' life, death and the disappearance of his body could have been the origin of the fantastic and contradictory accounts present in Christian literature today.
