"The Seven Last Words" may be read by individuals or used by churches as a lent course / Bible class. It provides a comprehensive resource, helping us understand and celebrate Easter. It includes: - 1.A daily reading section leading us through the life of Christ in chronological order as we progress towards Easter. 2.Sermon outlines at the beginning of each chapter giving a preaching resource for Easter. 3.Each chapter is accompanied with full resources for Lent groups, including questions, prayers, memory verses and action points. 4.There is a linked selection of appropriate hymns, songs, & readings for Sunday and small group worship see p152. 5.Sunday resources: - There are related Bible readings for each week, and A chronology of Good Friday and Easter Sunday are included. There are also three dramatised readings to enhanse worship. The visual activity of dressing a cross with different symbols outlined. 6.If the course is used as a Lenten preaching programme, there are six chapters rather than seven so that churches can celebrate either Mothering Sunday or Palm Sunday independently of this course and still conclude on Easter morning. The six studies take us from Christ's first words upon the cross, "Father forgive them," to the morning of the resurrection, for without the resurrection the cross is incomplete.
