Weather anomalies and global climatic change is frequently discussed topic in recent scholarship. In the last years major development has been achieved in understanding the climate of Western and Central Europe of the last millennium and especially that of the last five hundred years. In the last two decades historical as well as scientific research tried to reconstruct the climate of the last millennium in Hungary but our knowledge of the climatic processes of the Carpathian Basin is still scattered.
